What Talk to Nikki offers
Talk to Nikki provides friendly listening and general emotional support for adults. It is based on kindness, empathy and Nikki's personal and professional life experience.
What it does not offer
Nikki is not a qualified therapist, counsellor, psychologist, doctor or healthcare professional. Talk to Nikki does not provide:
- Therapy or professional counselling
- Diagnosis or treatment
- Medical or medication advice
- Crisis intervention or emergency assistance
- Legal or financial advice
Adults only
The service is for people aged 18 and over.
Location and availability
Email, WhatsApp and video conversations may be available to adults across the UK. Face-to-face conversations may be available in London by prior arrangement.
Conversations are subject to Nikki's availability. Submitting a contact form does not guarantee that a conversation will be offered.
When Nikki may decline or end contact
Nikki may decline or end contact where:
- Professional or specialist support is more appropriate
- Continuing would be unsafe or unsuitable
- A visitor behaves abusively, sexually, threateningly or disrespectfully
- Reasonable boundaries are repeatedly ignored
- The visitor is under 18
- Nikki is not available or able to provide suitable support
Urgent help
Talk to Nikki is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. For urgent mental-health support in England, call 111 and select the mental-health option. You can also call Samaritans free on 116 123.
Privacy and confidentiality
Nikki will treat conversations with care and respect. Confidentiality cannot be absolute. Nikki may seek help or share relevant information if she believes that someone is in immediate danger, there is a serious safeguarding concern, disclosure is required by law, or serious threatening or unlawful conduct occurs.
Recordings
Nikki does not record conversations. Visitors must not record, publish or distribute conversations without Nikki's prior permission.
Respectful conduct
Threats, harassment, discrimination, sexual messages, repeated unwanted contact and abusive conduct will not be accepted.
Face-to-face meetings
Meetings will take place in an agreed public or appropriate professional setting. Nikki's home address will not be used as a meeting location.
Cost and outcomes
Talk to Nikki is currently free. The format, availability and cost may change in the future.
A conversation may be helpful, but no particular outcome can be guaranteed. Visitors remain responsible for their decisions and for seeking qualified professional help when needed.
